Colombo, Sri Lanka, Oct. 2 -- Ministry of Defence and Urban Development issued the following news release:
Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) recently reviewed the progress of the ongoing construction of the new Ministry of Defence premises during a visit to the site.
During the visit, project officials briefed the Defence Secretary on the progress achieved, infrastructure readiness and the remaining work. Noting that construction is nearing completion, he emphasized the importance of maintaining required standards and completing the remaining work within the scheduled timeframe.
Senior Defence Ministry officials and project officers were present during the visit. The new premises, located within the Defence Headquarters Complex, will provide modern facilities to support the Ministry's administrative functions upon completion.
