Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) and Defence Secretary Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd) attended the French National Day celebration held at the Hilton Colombo on 13 July.
The celebration, hosted by the Ambassador of France to Sri Lanka, H.E. Remi Lambert, celebration of the French National Day, internationally known as Fete Nationale or Bastille Day.
Minister of Health and Mass Media Hon. (Dr.) Nalinda Jayatissa graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Secretary to other Ministries, Members of the Diplomatic Corp, Commanders of the Sri Lanka Army and Navy, Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Air Force, senior government officials, senior Tri-Service officers, other distinguished invitees were also present at the occasion.
