Colombo, Sri Lanka, Aug. 12 -- Ministry of Defence and Urban Development issued the following news release:
Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) chaired a Public Day Programme at his office in Colombo today (12 August), providing an opportunity for members of the veteran community, their families, and members of the public to directly present their concerns and seek assistance on matters pertaining to their welfare.
During the programme, the Deputy Minister listened to the issues and grievances presented by the participants and provided necessary guidance and directions to the relevant officials to take appropriate action towards addressing the matters raised.
Officials of the office of the Deputy Ministry of Defence were also present on the occasion.
