The Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), chaired Public Day Programs in Anuradhapura and Kurunegala on 29 and 30 August, respectively. The sessions provided an accessible platform for members of the veteran community, their families, and the general public to directly raise their concerns and seek assistance on welfare and service related matters.
The programs served as a direct forum for participants to voice individual grievances, submit requests, and bring other matters requiring the Ministry's attention to the forefront. The Deputy Minister attentively listened to the issues presented and directed relevant officials to take prompt and appropriate action, with necessary follow up measures to ensure effective resolution.
The sessions were supported by the presence of Members of the Parliament for Anuradhapura District Professor Sena Nanayakkara, Mr. Thilina Samarakoon, and Member of Parliament for Kurunegala District Major General G.D. Sooriyabandara (Retd.) Senior officials from the Office of the Deputy Minister of Defence were also in attendance to facilitate discussions, provide guidance, and coordinate appropriate action on the matters brought.
