The Deputy Minister of Defence Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd) attended the youth dialogue titled "From Experience to Preparedness: Youth Perspectives on Disaster Risk Management in Sri Lanka" as the Chief Guest today (14 Oct) at the Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH), Colombo.

Organized jointly by the Association of Disaster Risk Management Professionals (ADRiMP) and Save the Children, the program aims to strengthen youth participation in disaster risk reduction and preparedness, drawing lessons from the Cyclone Ditwah experience.

Addressing the gathering, the Deputy Minister emphasized the importance of strengthening disaster preparedness, improving coordination among stakeholders and building resilient communities.
