Colombo, Sri Lanka, Oct. 8 -- Ministry of Defence and Urban Development issued the following news release:
The Adjutant General of the Montana National Guard, Brigadier General Trenton J. Gibson, paid separate courtesy calls on the Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), and the Defence Secretary, Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyacontha (Retd), today (08 October).
During the separate meetings, the Deputy Minister and the Defence Secretary held cordial discussions with Brigadier General Gibson on matters of mutual interest, with particular attention to strengthening defence cooperation and enhancing longstanding relations between Sri Lanka and the United States.
These meetings also provided opportunity to exchange views on areas of common interest and explore avenues for further cooperation between the two countries.
