Colombo, Sri Lanka, Oct. 6 -- Ministry of Defence and Urban Development issued the following news release:
The newly appointed Director of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), Major General AKCS de Silva, paid a courtesy call on the Deputy Minister of Defence, Major General Aruna Jayasekara (Retd), today (06 October).
During the cordial meeting, the Deputy Minister and the NCC Director exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, with particular attention to the role of the National Cadet Corps in developing discipline, leadership and character among the youth.
The occasion also provided an opportunity to discuss initiatives aimed at further strengthening the NCC and enhancing its contribution to national development.
