The Inter-Unit Judo Championship 2025 was held from 18 to 20 June at SLAF Base Katunayake, with over 130 male and female athletes competing in the tournament.
The final session and awards ceremony took place yesterday (20 June 2025), marking the culmination of an intense and spirited competition conducted across eight weight categories for both men and women.
SLAF Trade Training School Ekala emerged as the overall Champions in both the Men's and Women's events. SLAF Station Sri Jayewardenepura secured the Runners-Up position in both categories.
The Awards Ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Director General Training, Air Vice Marshal Dammika Dias. In attendance were the Base Commander of SLAF Base Katunayake, Air Commodore Asela Jayasekara, Chairman of SLAF Judo Air Commodore Manoj Galappaththi, Commanding Officer of SLAF Trade Training School Ekala, Air Commodore Kolitha Abeysinghe, Secretary of AFSC Group Captain Eranda Geeganage, Secretary of SLAF Judo, Group Captain Iranga Gunasinghe, along with members of the SLAF Sports Council and other distinguished guests.
